THE GOVERNMENT ART MUSEUM / THE NAPIER MUSEUM

KERALA INDIA

Situated at the capital city of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram. This structure is built by an English architect Robert Chisholm in the year 1880. LORD NAPIER  was the Governor  General of Madras. The name was given its name in honoring Load Napier.

Basically The Travencore Musium was established by Maharaja Utradam Thirunal  in 1857,  one among  the oldest in India and was in a small building

This building is known for its built in natural air conditioning system

To get good knowledge of our old culture and tradition every one has to visit this museum.The treasures of this museum will help history archaeology students

The collections which numbers more than five hundred includes a temple chariot, four century old clock, the sword of Veluthambi Devala, a coat made up of herbal wood, bronze idols, ancient ornaments, ivory carvings, bronze ideals , lamps, textiles, kadhakali models, traditional musical instruments, wast coin collection even from 100BC onwards etc.


An eighth century old metal statue of Loard Vishnu which is from Ambalapuzha temble is one among the marvels, and the oldest one in the state.
